Now you have come to the right place – we promise a different experience

The Vianor Curlingcenter is a venue for playing curling, organizing training camps, competitions, tournaments and tournaments of four different sports (three bowling games − boule, kubb, mölkky − and curling) and also organizing meals and accommodation.

We rent playing surfaces (sheets) by a “playing passport” which means that the sheet is at your disposal for two hours with an instructor.

We have 2 sheets, so max. 20 people can play at the same time. It is recommended to divide a large group (max. 60 people) and play in smaller groups taking turns. You can also have a tournament of four different bowling games (boule, kubb, mölkky and culrling).

We provide all the necessary equipment for playing curling, i. e.

  • shoes, helmets, jackets and aids (e. g. sticks) for those who need them (if you suffer from pain in the back or in the knee)

You should have these items with you:

  • comfortable trousers (college, stretch etc.), gloves (if you get cold easily)

We have a café at the Vianor Curlingcenter that serves alcohol. You can also follow the games from a panorama perspective from the café.

What is curling?

Curling is a team sport and a team consists of four players. The players are called a lead, a second, a vice-skip (or third), and a skip. This is also the order they deliver the stones during a game. The order stays the same throughout the game.

The skip controls and gives directions from his/her place behind the house (where you deliver the stones) until he/she delivers the last two stones of the end. Each player shoots two stones in turns with the opponent. The leads start the end delivering the stones in turns and trying to build a winning game. When all of the 16 stones are shot, the end is played.

A game consists of 16 ends and after each end the scores are added up. One point is gained when a stone is placed in the house (i. e. inside the couloured rings) after an end. If the stone is placed even a little in the house, a point is scored. Every stone, that is better placed than the stones of the opponent, is a point scorer. Only one team can score points during an end – one or more.
